May 11....I slept great last night. I was refreshed. I showered and was very excited to meet up with my brother Les and his wife Lenise and wonderful son Lakoda. They met us here at Motel 6 at noon and we headed to a restaurant named Margies with portion sizes bigger than in Alaska for a better price. My brother Les is very handsome with white hair past his his shoulders and a braided beard. He looks great. Lenise is beautiful both inside and out and my nephew Lakoda is their blessing. I knew today would be the best.....We headed on a guided tour via speaker on our cell phones starring Les. We drove on highway 1 through Avila Beach town....definately going back there.....and Pismo Beach.....nice too. Both of these places are small towns nestled along the ocean so quaint and unique full of visitors celebrating the 80 Degrees, a Sunday, or Mothers Day. It was exciting. The ocean was spectacular, the waves had white caps and rolled in one after the other and it smelled like the ocean.....fresh. The smell was not just the ocean itself but the many restaurants. What a great mix. Mom and I headed to watch the sun set in Morrow Bay. We first visited the beach where the famous Rock is and I combed the beach and walked in the water. The ocean feels like home to me. I found a unbroken sand dollar and some other shells. I thanked God for this gift I was so blessed to enjoy. The Morro Rock is huge with birds flying all around it....mostly seagulls. We watched some surfers and aa couple of boats maneuvering the bay. We found a great spot to sit and watch the sun set next to the rock. It was gorgeous. We headed back to our hotel and now are relaxing and planning our day here tomorrow. I love it here. It feels good and is beautiful. Happy Mothers Day. PS. My mom is feeling much better.
Additional mememories include a wonderful morning swim at or pool in Palm Desert buying a couple of candy bars to support a local girl play soccer.....donated to the local homeless organization...the windmills....the gorgeous flowers in PD......my white Malibu car....air conditioning......farms.....groves of grapes.....beach....waves.....busy....people selling flowers along the highway....so many new things....and thank God for the truckets....
Happy Mothers Day friends and family. Yesterday I traveled from Palm Desert to San Luis Obispo California. It was a day on the freeway but including wonderful weather from the 70's to the 80's. The majority of the trip was desert but interestingly it was kinds cool. We ran into the most amazing thing. Out in the middle of the desert appeared 1000's of wind mills. It was like being in a syfi movie. Mom slept most of the way in and out. She was diagnosed with shingles so it wiped her out. We traveled on the Freeway at East LA. It was crazy. There were a few confusing choices but I kicked some freeway ass. Lots of people aan cars, graffiti, tall buildings. We made it to Santa Monica and then to the Pacific Coast Hey. There it was the amazing ocean. My favorite gift from mother nature. People were everywhere enjoying this beautiful day. Surfing, wind surfing, sun bathing, walking, hiking and everything you can imagine. The ocean rolled and crashed on the beach. We continued on to give my brother Josh a quick hug in Malibu. What a wonderful place. The homes on the hill were enormous looking out over the Ocean. We continued on to San Luis Obispo and you could see how the Terrain was much different. In one day we were in the desert, beach and now in wine country. Pretty amazing. Our Motel is clean and safe.......mom and I went straight to sleep.

Hiking up the Butte 5 times so far this Summer

Go to lisamarie.stampinup.net to see my awesome website

Today will mark the 6th time this summer I have been ever so fortunate to have made it to the top of the Butte.  Each time it is a WOW.  I remember not too long ago, I would never have believed I could make it up at all.  Pat has been a wonderful hiking Partner and we have decided our interest in hiking will take us on alot more adventures in the future.  The MSB has made some wonderful upgrades on the trail making it easier to climb.  I have seen 2 year olds to 80 year olds and every age in between enjoying their hike.
